Pennies in a Pond is a non-profit organization, based in California but american committed to helping individuals and families secure food/clother and safe housing.

What We Do

We strive to create a humane and sustainable world for all houseless people.  We seek to forge a lasting and comprehensive change in human consciousness and behavior toward all houdeless people in order to prevent cruelty and exploitation, provide alternatives to houselessness and foster education and economic self-sufficient.  Our services include:

• Working with clients through shelters and temporary housing centers
• Assisting residents in making the transition from shelter to permanent housing
• Assisting clients with rent, move-in costs, first and last month security deposits
• Providing clients with monthly groceries supplies
• Providing part-time work with assistance from Pennies In A Pond, with micro-financing to subsidize hourly wage to encourage small businesses to hire.
• Providing household and basic needs items as needed/available

How We Do It

We “flip” pennies.  A penny is considered the least valuable part of the money tree. The very name exudes worthlessness.  Pennies in a Pond want to change your thinking about the lowly penny.  Pennies collected together can have a major impact.  Flipping pennies is the process of doubling the value of a penny each day.
